CILNI is a regional organisation, working to support the right of disabled people to have choice and control in their lives and to take an active part in the community in which they live. We provide a range of services for disabled people including an independent living information and advice service, payroll service, employment and recruitment support and some advocacy support.
Across Northern Ireland interest in social care policy and disability rights issues is increasing. More and more companies, support organisations, local communities and care providers are becoming aware of the fact that inclusion has no limits! Innovation through organizational mind shifts, technology, flexible personal budget arrangements are being mainstreamed after more than 25 years of mobilizing the independent living movement in Northern Ireland.
It is 18 years since the Centre for Independent Living NI (CILNI) was established and we are holding two events in Belfast and Omagh to bring together service users and independent living professionals. Many of CILNI’s service users, partners, professionals and politicians will exchange their knowledge with lunch, inspiring speakers and networking opportunities.
